Description

This workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to learn the fundamentals and practical techniques for painting the Australian landscape. It’s designed to give you a clear, simple process so you can build confidence and enjoy painting more freely.

Landscape #1: You’ll create a landscape study, where we’ll explore focal points, eye movement, shapes, values, structure, texture, brushwork, and how to use warm and cool colours effectively. I’ll guide you through my easy four-stage process for painting landscapes step by step.

Landscape #2: You’ll then apply this process to a landscape of your choice, with plenty of encouragement and guidance from me along the way. Feel free to bring along any photos or images you’d like to use as reference.

NOT INCLUDED - please bring:

  1. Brushes (a variety of synthetic and bristle brushes - I have some you can use but limited).

  2. Apron

  3. Rags/Paper towels

  4. Pencil and sketchbook

  5. Your lunch

I will encourage you to embrace the challenge of pushing your boundaries, to let go of expectations, to be open to learn from your mistakes, but most importantly, have fun and enjoy the process! After all, art making is just practice.

NOTES:

  1. The Studio is ABOVE the Golf Club building at Quamby Estate.

  2. Park your car in the car park on the left as you drive in.

  3. There are 17 stairs to the studio.

  4. The bathroom is downstairs.
