Watercolour Florals - SUNDAY 20/9

In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, you’ll be guided through the foundations of watercolour while exploring the beauty of floral forms.

The day unfolds in three parts. We’ll begin by learning the essentials — brush handling, layering, wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques — and gaining an understanding of how watercolour behaves on paper. From there, we’ll move into painting simple florals, breaking them down into shape and structure, and exploring more expressive, intuitive mark-making.

In the final session, you’ll bring everything together. You can work from reference images on your phone, the fresh flowers I’ll have in the studio, or from my own paintings — creating a piece that feels like your own interpretation.

This workshop balances technical skill with creative freedom. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of the medium and a collection of works — some ready to frame or gift, others to continue developing, or to keep as studies for future paintings.

BRING ALONG:

1. Any watercolour paints and brushes you may have.

2. Your lunch.

1. Park your car in the car park on the left as you drive in.

2. The Studio is the first floor in the white building down from the carpark (see photo reference). There are 17 external stairs up to the studio.

3. The bathroom is downstairs.

*Please note: this is not a Paint and Sip style workshop; it is a focused, skill-based session designed to develop your watercolour skills and techniques.

I will encourage you to embrace the challenge of pushing your boundaries, to let go of expectations, to be open to learn from your mistakes, but most importantly, have fun and enjoy the process! After all, art making is just practice.

No refunds will be provided for cancellations made by the participant or for missed sessions. This includes cancellations due to change of mind, illness or unexpected personal circumstances.

Bookings are non-transferable to another class or workshop. As the studio operates as part of a limited-term Artist Residency which is coming to an end, we are unable to guarantee future classes or workshop dates and therefore cannot offer transfers, credits or deferred bookings.

If you are unable to attend, you may arrange for another person to attend the same class or workshop in your place, provided you contact us beforehand.

If a class or workshop is cancelled by us, or if the service provided is materially different from what was described, we will provide the appropriate refund or other remedy in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
